The Data Spec Sheet: What We Collect & Why
We limit data collection to the essentials required to fulfill orders, maintain warranties, and improve your browsing experience. We never collect data "just in case." Every field in our forms has a purpose. If you purchase a washing machine, we need your address for delivery; we don't need your birthdate for marketing.
Identity & Contact Data
Full name, email address, mobile number, billing address, shipping address.
Order fulfillment, delivery coordination, and account management. Contractual necessity.
Financial & Transaction Data
Partial payment card details (tokenized via Stripe), purchase history, invoices, warranty registrations.
Payment processing, fraud prevention, warranty claims, and tax compliance. Legal obligation & Legitimate interest.
Technical Usage Data
IP address, browser type, device ID, pages visited, time on site, click-stream data.
Site security, analytics to improve load speeds, and optimizing product discovery. Consent (via Cookie Banner).
All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use banking-grade encryption standards to ensure that even if physical drives were compromised, your data remains unreadable.

Just because we sell toasters doesn't mean we skimp on server security. Aussie Home Appliances hosts customer data on redundant, secure cloud infrastructure located in Australian data centers (Sydney and Melbourne regions) to ensure compliance with local sovereignty laws.

Biometric internal staff access only.
We will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) within 72 hours of becoming aware of any eligible data breach.
Your Data Rights
You own your data. We just store it while you shop. At any point, you can exercise these rights by emailing info@aussiehomeappliances.com.au.
1. Right to Access
Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. We will provide this in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (PDF/CSV) within 30 days.
2. Right to Rectification
Wrong delivery address? Misspelled name? You can correct inaccurate personal data immediately via your account dashboard or by contacting support.
3. Right to Erasure
Also known as the "Right to be Forgotten." You can request we delete your account and associated data. Exceptions apply for tax records (7 years).
4. Right to Complain
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the OAIC (Office of the Australian Information Commissioner).
